She has a double Master’s Degree in Special Education and in School Administration and Supervision from Touro College. She specializes in student-focused teaching, with three years of hands-on leadership experience within various school systems in the states of New York and Maryland. Ms. Williams-Newton is a veteran special education teacher for over 20 years.
Her experience with teaching students who have varying levels of physical and mental handicaps provides her with the knowledge and expertise to educate children with special needs.
In fact, Ms. Williams-Newton is known for developing data-driven teaching programs that accommodate different kinds of learners and maximize the development of multiple intelligence. Her model of teaching creates an environment where all students receive the support they need to grow and succeed.
One of her strengths is her willingness to learn and grow as an educator. She is open to adapting updated teaching methods, sharing and exploring ideas, and evaluating the efficacy of the strategies she has used. These are things that she encourages her teaching staff to do, as well.
Another strength she has is her compassion for students and their parents. It is her goal through this childcare therapy center to provide parents with the resources and methods to educate their children at home, giving them a better shot at a life in the modern world.
Ms. Williams-Newton believes that all educators should strive to become the person their students aspire to be.
Her philosophy is built on the idea that education is key in becoming a successful member of today’s society. Therefore, her mission and that of Soaring Stars Therapy and Learning Center, Inc. is to provide education for children facing physical and cognitive difficulties, with the goal of creating within them a desire for learning and a passion towards securing a bright future.
